Regardless, the point is, even I could have made the same climb the climber did, and I'm nearly 64 :) But, using the bars to haul myself up. Not available in 2007, or 2009 when monkey lawyer tried, and he's 6 foot two, the picture shows how far he got. But throw a boulder that distance, with accuracy? Open the scuri from the outside? .ORG posted the lock mechanism photo, there is no way it could have been opened with a knife (which would have left marks along the edge BTW)

Still, this is all interesting till Monday. Good luck asking the Florence Court to view the Channel 5 infomercial as 'evidence' :)

I think this is the most interesting part of the program for the reason that you start thinking if you can do it. I don't know if I could do it :( That stretching move from lower window to top window doesn't look so easy to me. I think if 'anybody' could do it they wouldn't have used a rock climber.

max, I know what you are saying. I see how such mass media manipulation techniques work on convincing the dumb masses, or 90% of them anyway. But their interest is superficial, and moves on to the next dog and pony show. I believe we should still meet it head on, and counter podunk shows with intelligent argument. Obviously only someone with sufficient upper body strength could make it, and knows a little about rock/tree climbing techniques and only by grasping the bars that weren't there in the first place.

But, no one could have got through that window.

Yes, people can be dumb. But the intelligent ones, tend to be reflected in most judges and juries. Remember the Sgt Pasquali rock throwing demonstration? He too was asked if he replicated all the conditions, and slunk out of the Massei Court tail between legs. And Judge Micheli looked at the cottage window, and said the so called break in was staged. An opinion buttressed by two Supreme Court decisions, let us not forget, and those who say those decisions were not intelligent, are not intelligent themselves.

Sad thing is that I am used to it by now. We have been discussing the wall for a few days, and it was never even the issue that it was 'impossible' to climb up there. I keep trying to see the 'humor' in it though

In all fairness, here's the YouTube video of the Wall Climb. Note that the climber, who appears to be 5'8-9", stands on the lower ledge of the bottom window and can easily extend his arm to grasp the ledge of Filomena's window. So again, climbing up is not impossible, but getiing through the glass and closed scuri is. The inside lock mechanism is not open-able from the outside, as hammerite or someone on .ORG has already demonstrated. The break in was staged, and no one has proven otherwise, nor should it even be considered by Florence.

An aside: as I thought, he was able to clamber down the slope by the side of the house, so to get under the window people would not have to go all the way around the house, just approach from the driveway.

The video I have seen (linked by Amanda Knox supporter @GuilterWatchin on Twitter) shows that the climber uses the bars to heave his body up and then sit on the sill. Highly questionable that anyone could have done it so easily without the bars.

A) It is a challenge to fit your body through the window with big glass fragments still firmly fixed in the window frame, and B) if you cannot heave yourself up with the help of the bars that weren't there in 2007, then how would you be able to reach the window latch from your position to open the window through the broken glass? It's too high.

And, as Michael already pointed out in a former post, the experiment was done under different light and weather conditions and the climber wears specialised footwear as opposed to Rudy Guede's sneakers.

The whole experiment was pointless.

Yes, as I pointed out a number of times, I was forced by Barbie to go off her, when, after she had been involved reporting, as an American living in Italy, and regularly writing on the case, tweeting from the courthouse with trial n process (note: tweeting from the courtroom is now banned for this procedure, and I thought at the time, what is that, these people twittering from the courtroom, it's wrong) and after publishing a book, and I mean, all books I find wrong except for Mr Kercher's as he has a RIGHT to say how he feels, she said, people are obsessed with the case.

I find that demeaning, because that is wording aimed at belittling people who feel very upset about what happened to Meredith and upset about the way the PR firm employed by the Knox family has acted and this way it is for all of us a conscious choice to stand up for justice.

What I really dislike too about her, is where the PR campaigns involved certain words, she copies them, so what the hell is she thinking, to use ''shoddy'' is then to copy Candace Dempsey and the like because that is the type of wording they selected in order to undermine the case.

If Barbie says this, or things such as this, then she ought to explain exactly what she means and exactly why.
She's been having wines with Mr Crap Reporter Pisa again by the sounds of it and cosy restaurants, that's one of the perks these journalists enjoy while staying in Italy, and I do not trust any of them, they all live in Italy and like I described will do anything it seems, to keep the pennies rolling in, others (not Barbie) criticise Italy all the time, like Popham and others) yet remain there and love the type of lifestyle they are able to enjoy there, which cannot be had in the UK, for one thing the sun switches of fa lot of the year in the UK and north Europe.

They got him fresh off of Mount Annapurna, asking hey, you seem like an ordinary guy, want a job, because you seem just like this guy who never climbed a rock, or even threw one, in his entire life.

Hi Zorba,

I don't think they introduced the climber by name, but he wears a t-shirt with advertising from a Perugian climbing club on it: a.s.d. Tacche e Svasi Climbing Club

Ha ha ha, so true! If anything, they made it worse. The reaction on Twitter to these so called demonstrations was overwhelmingly negative.

My impression is that people are fed up by their lies.

One more thing: Filomena said that the wood was swollen and it was not possible to close the shutters completely. It sounds as if you would have to use some force to firmly close or open them.

In the video the shutters are fixed. They open easily and can be closed completely without difficulty.

Stephanie Kercher on "hunt" by Amanda Knox: "Leave Meredith's grave in peace"

Posted September 27 2013 20:49 | Last updated: September 27, 2013 20:49

PERUGIA - Stephanie Kercher calls for respect (so do not want Amanda Knox) for her sister Meredith at least now that she is in her grave: "Her grave is now her safe place to rest in peace and be with us. I hope this is respected by all. "Stephanie spoke in a statement released by the family lawyer, the lawyer Francesco Maresca.

In recent days, she had appeared on Today interview - that Stephanie does not cite - in which Amanda Knox has expressed a desire to go to the grave with the Meredith family of British student (who was killed in Perugia).

"It took almost five years until, as a family, we felt ready to bury Mez - Stephanie says - and today is still extremely painful. However, now she has a place where we can go and her friends to bring flowers and spend a bit 'of time. "

"I hope she can continue to rest in peace - she adds - in spite of the court case is going forward. However, for Mez, we will fight to the end. "

"On November 6, 2007 - Stephanie remembers - it was the hardest day of my life. Coming to Italy and identify my little sister, lying there, cold and lifeless. I would not wish on anyone, is a memory that never leaves me. My mother and I we were the last to caress Mez, that day, to let her know we were there and that we had come to take her home. "

BLITZQUOTIDIANO

Can someone please kindly give us a proper translation of this?

A translation, as I understand it, the Italian original is written somewhat sloppy:

Stephanie Kercher “chases away” Amanda Knox: “Leave Meredith’s grave in peace”.
Perugia – Stephanie Kercher asks for respect for her sister Meredith at least now that she is in her grave (so she doesn’t want Amanda Knox around): “ Her grave is her save haven to rest and be with us. I hope everyone will respect this.” This is what Stephanie has said by means of a declaration released by the family legal advisor, the attorney at law Francesco Maresca.
In an interview – not quoted by Stephanie- published by Oggi some days ago, Amanda Knox expressed her wish to visit Meredith’s grave together with the family of this English student (murdered in Perugia).
“ It took circa five years for us as her family, to feel ready to burry Mez – says Stephanie – and still today it is extremely painfull. However, now she has a place where we and her friends can go to, bring flowers and spend some time”.
“I hope she can continue to rest in peace “ - adds Stephanie –“despite of the legal case going on. But as we know Mez, she will fight till the end.”
“ November the 6th in 2007 – Stephanie reminds – was the most difficult day in my life. Going to Italy to identify my sweet sister, laying there cold and lifeless. This is a memory that I cannot let go, I wouldn’t wish it to anyone. My mother and I were the last ones to caress Mez that day, to make her understand that we were there and that we came to take her home”.

People are so unimaginative:

'Cartwheel' uses fiction to re-examine Amanda Knox case

Claudia Puig, USA TODAY 2 p.m. EDT September 28, 2013
http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/book ... w/2826581/

"Cartwheel cribs so many details from the much-publicized 2007 case of Amanda Knox that it's hard to assess author Jennifer duBois' work as a stand-alone piece of fiction.
One key difference, however, in the novel is location. Lily Hayes, a young American woman charged with the murder of her roommate Katy Kellers, is studying abroad in Buenos Aires, rather than Perugia, Italy, as Knox was.
...
In the novel, guilt is inferred when Lily does a cartwheel during a break in her interrogation. This titular reference was lifted straight out of Knox's case. In the breathless reporting of Lily's alleged crime, this bit of circumstantial gymnastics serves as the smoking gun."

Weird indeed. But then, she's always sort of kept all options open, hasn't she?
Here's something new, or maybe not:

"Her handlers are trying to get her as much air time as possible in Italy after the first day of the appeal, offering up pre-taped sound bytes to investigative news programs like Porta Porta and Matrix, both of which have dedicated ample air time to the case in the past. Whether the blitz will make any difference--good or bad--to the Florence court remains to be seen."

Though times ahead for us...

Welcome to the forum spirito and thank you for providing us with a proper translation of the article.

Stephanie Kercher responds to the latest Knox interviews with restraint, as usual. A very well educated and disciplined family - the exact opposite of the Knox/Mellas family.

From Ms. Vogt's article:

Quote:
Also, as reported today by Barbie Nadeau in this piece in The Daily Beast, don’t expect Amanda Knox to be wholly absent — while she will not be in court, she will be on TV, in pre-taped sound bytes her handlers have been offering to highly-rated programs like Porta Porta and Matrix in Italy, as well as news shows in the U.S. and U.K. But will it make a difference in court? Stay tuned.

Handlers? I cringe every time I see this word.

Thank you, Spirito and a formal welcome to PMF!!! :) :) :)

GOOGLE TRANSLATION (from German):

New case against Amanda Knox: From the femme fatale of the Holy

By Gesa Mayr

rkehrte them skillfully into its opposite.

Hamburg - it has become narrow, almost fragile. It is unobtrusively, wearing a pastel dress without cleavage. Then Amanda Knox says with a trembling voice: "I hope they give a chance my innocence." It is the antithesis of a femme fatale who in the chair of the "Today" show sitting in late September.

Whether she is innocent, will be seen on Monday in federal court in Florence. There, the trial about the death of British student Meredith Kercher is rolled again (Click here to read the chronology of the case). The focus of the method are again Knox and her then boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. Neither of the two will personally take on the dock space. Out of fear, as they say, eventually they were already once been wrongly convicted.

The Italian investigators will review the evidence for the fourth time. Court of Cassation, they are encouraged to look at the details of "the whole". But no matter how the judges decide - Knox has won a great victory even before the trial started: She has changed her image of the sex-obsessed student in a merciful sacrifice.

After the huge image campaign, including biography and several large zelebrierter interviews on U.S. television, the 26-year-old seems to have perfected their performances as innocent convicts. A few days before the trial started in Florence, it occurs during prime time on U.S. television. She regularly speaks - in fluent Italian - with the media in Italy. There is a down-cast eyes, the sobs in her voice, the "I-feel-me-not-well-to-talk-about" look.

Good one. I think perhaps, Francesco's PR people have decided that he needs to change his name to something that won't immediately be connected to Knox. Unfortunately, the PR people are working for minimum wages and this was the best they could think.

Very sloppy reporting! That is the name of the captian of the Italian cruise ship that indeed skidded on the rocks and then tipped over.

Hi Zorba,

I don't think they introduced the climber by name, but he wears a t-shirt with advertising from a Perugian climbing club on it: a.s.d. Tacche e Svasi Climbing Club

Just a thought, is it likely that the final film was edited to increase the shadowing to make it look like a ledge?

There is every possibility that Knox and Sollecito will again be acquitted of Kercher’s murder. The case is complicated and messy with plenty of reasonable doubt, compromised by sloppy police work, and subject to the type of international attention that sometimes blurs logic. She does show that she followed the latest news.

Sollecito launched an online campaign for donations to his defense fund to pay for the appeal, which was followed sensationally by the news that he was moving to the Caribbean after an extended vacation there that was captured by paparazzi, causing many to wonder where their donations had gone.

I find that demeaning, because that is wording aimed at belittling people who feel very upset about what hppened to Meredith and upset about trhe way the PR firm employed by the Knox family has acted and this way it is for all of us a conscious choice to stand up for justice.

What I really dislike too about her, is where the PR campaigns involved certain words, she copies them, so what the hell is she thinking, t use shoddy is then to copty Candace Demp;sey and the like because that is the typoe of wording they selected in order to undermin the case.

If Barbie says this, or things such as this, then she ought to explauin exactly what she means exactly why.
She's been having wines with OPusa again by the sounds of it and cosy restaurants, that's one of the perks these journalists enjoy while staying in Italy, and I do not trust any of them, they all live in Italy and like I decscribed will do anythimng it seems, to keep the pennies rolling in, others (not Barbie) critixise Italy all the time, like Popham and others) yet remain their and love the type of lifestyle they are able to enjoy there, which cannot be had in the UK, for one thing the sun swuitches offa lot of the year uin the UK and north Europe.

True Ava, but why it irritated me so much to hear her saying that was because I really liked her, I mean, she was the onkly one who apeard not to be bought up, this notwithstanding, fact is, yes, options open but it has nothing to do with insulting people like you and me. Alternatively: Me and you and a dog named boo,

That was quite an education. Is this how it is done now. It appears that he just cold-calls people then takes whoever calls back. Doesn't give him much time to intelligently prepare for anything.

Quote:
There is every possibility that Knox and Sollecito will again be acquitted of Kercher’s murder. The case is complicated and messy with plenty of reasonable doubt, compromised by sloppy police work, and subject to the type of international attention that sometimes blurs logic. The Italian judicial system has essentially been put through the ringer in this case, and has come out stained.

She does show that she followed the latest news.
Quote:
Sollecito launched an online campaign for donations to his defense fund to pay for the appeal, which was followed sensationally by the news that he was moving to the Caribbean after an extended vacation there that was captured by paparazzi, causing many to wonder where their donations had gone.

Fortunately, there is Andrea Vogt as well.

Does anybody know how Preston "burned" CPJ, and why they will not cop to the truth??

Because they got all starry eyed over the "big name" author and didn't ask too many questions, or in fact any of the questions they should have, and ended up with egg on their faces. No public organisation wants to openly admit to having been taken for a ride and made to look like idiots, so they just issued a short curt denial of having been in the wrong and have sat quiet since, hoping it will pass over and everyone will forget all about it. That's it in a nutshell.

That was quite an education. Is this how it is done now. It appears that he just cold-calls people then takes whoever calls back. Doesn't give him much time to intelligently prepare for anything.

Sadly, that seems to be the state of journalism these days. But, one expects better from the BB bloody C!!!

More interviews with Amana ..groan. One positive thing is a reference to how she reacts and gives herself away. Dianne Sawyer's contains several points that have been discussed with areas of obvious deception. Looking at it again today I heard something else. At 7:38 Dianne is asking about her statement she f.....ing bled to death. Knox well I was angry I was pacing and thinking about what she wa...must have gone through. Quick correction on her part from the present tense.

Actually was that Doug Preston made a $5000 donation to CPJ prior. He and his family listed as donors. Gets things moving I guess.
